Goin' to the chapel?

You'll need a marriage licence first. While there's not quite an app for that yet, the process can now be done online in Timmins.

The city is part of a pilot project to digitize the marriage licence application process. Timmins is one of six municipalities in Ontario taking part in the project.

“Service Timmins is happy to participate in a project that will help us modernize one of our services,” said Steph Palmateer, director of community services, in a news release

“We typically receive roughly 200 marriage license applications each year. By submitting the initial application online, residents can save time and have their application approved within one to two business days, provided that all required documents are submitted.”

For the new process, couples can request a marriage licence online here. Once approved, the licence can be picked up and paid for at Service Timmins.

The cost is $175 and the licence is valid for three months. More details on what you need to apply are available here.
