TIMMINS FIRE DEPARTMENT

In the early hours of April 2, The Timmins Fire Department fought a fire in the Mountjoy area at 1500 Jaguar Dr. N. The initial call came in at 1:24 a.m.
Damage to the garage caused by smoke, fire and water is extensive. The fire also caused substantial damage to a fifth wheel located next to the structure.
The home located on the property was not damaged by the fire. The garage itself is a complete loss. There were no injuries or fatalities sustained.
Traffic was not disrupted in the area. Timmins Fire Department responded to this fire with four pumper/tanker trucks.
Resources from the Mountjoy Station and Timmins Stations made up of a combination of 20 firefighters that were on scene. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
The Timmins Fire Department is a composite Fire Department that operates seven fire stations; five volunteer stations, one composite station and one airport station. The Fire Department is equipped with a total of 21 pieces of apparatus, 140 volunteer firefighters and 34 career firefighters.
