The Timmins and District Hospital Foundation is pleased to receive a $5000 donation from the Club Richelieu Les Perles du Nord to assist the pediatric department at our Hospital during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“In these difficult times of COVID-19, our club pursues its mission of helping youths and contributing to the common good of our community.

Today, we are providing support to the pediatric department of the Timmins and District Hospital with a donation of $5000 toward the purchase of software upgrades for our current ventilators to be able to do non-invasive ventilation. While we hope that there won’t be a need to hospitalize children with COVID-19, we want our hospital to be prepared to respond quickly and adequately should the need arise” explained Sylvie Sylvestre, chair of the Club Richelieu Les Perles du Nord.

The mission of the Club Richelieu Les Perles du Nord is to promote the Francophonie and work for the Francophonie and the well-being of youth. The Club’s involvement in the community includes financial assistance to children and families in need and donations to the hospital for the purchase of medical equipment for children.

This $5000 donation comes from funds raised thanks to the volunteer work of the club members at Jackpot City Timmins’ bingos.  The club wishes to thank Jackpot City Timmins for their generosity in their fundraising activities.

Barb McCormick is the Manager of Donor Relations of the Hospital Foundation and says every donation helps us invest in the best equipment to advance physical and mental healthcare in the North. During these unprecedented times we rely on our donors more than ever, especially with our decisions to defer our major fundraising events to future dates.
