Four Kirkland Lake men face charges in separate domestic dispute investigations

One is accused of distributing intimate images without consent, assault, and break and enter

KIRKLAND LAKE - On May 13, 2019, members of the Kirkland Lake Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a domestic dispute in the Town of Kirkland Lake, Ont.

As a result of the investigation, a 38-year-old male, from Kirkland Lake, Ont., was arrest on May 21, 2019, and charged with the following:

  • Break, enter a dwelling house with intent to commit indictable offence, contrary to section 348(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC)
  • Break, enter a dwelling house - commit indictable offence, contrary to section 348(1)(b) of the CC
  • Assault, contrary to section 266 of the (CC)
  • Theft under $5,000, contrary to section 334(b) of the CC
  • Harassing communications, contrary to section 372(3) of the CC
  • Distribute intimate image without consent, contrary to sec 162.1(1) of the CC
  • Obstruct peace officer, contrary to section 129(a) of the CC
  • Fail to comply with conditions of undertaking given by officer in charge (four counts), contrary to section 145(5.1) of the CC

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Kirkland Lake.

On May 17, 2019, members of the Kirkland Lake Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a domestic dispute in the Town of Kirkland Lake, Ont.

As a result of the investigation, a 32-year-old male, from Kirkland Lake, Ont., was charged with the following:

  • Mischief under $5,000, contrary to section 430(4) of the CC

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Kirkland Lake.

On May 19, 2019, members of the Kirkland Lake Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a domestic dispute in the Town of Kirkland Lake, Ont.

As a result of the investigation, a 21-year-old male, from Kirkland Lake, Ont., was charged with the following:

  • Uttering threats - cause death or bodily harm, contrary to section 264.1(1)(a) of the CC
  • Assault, contrary to section 266 of the CC
  • Break, enter a dwelling house with intent to commit indictable offence, contrary to section 348(1)(a) of the CC
  • Mischief under $5,000, contrary to the CC, Cruelty to Animals - Unnecessary Pain
  • Suffering or injury, contrary section 445.1(1)(a) of the CC
  • Fail to comply with probation order, contrary to section 733.1(1) of the CC

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Kirkland Lake.

On May 20, 2019, members of the Kirkland Lake Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a domestic dispute in the Town of Kirkland Lake, Ont.

As a result of the investigation, a 49-year-old male, from Kirkland Lake, Ont., was charged with the following:

  • Uttering threats - cause death or bodily harm, contrary to section 264.1(1)(a) of the CC

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Kirkland Lake.

The OPP will not be releasing the names in order to protect the identity of the victims. Victims in abusive relationships are not alone.
