Four arrested in drug investigation

HEARST – On September 25, 2015, at 6:03 p.m., the James Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a criminal investigation on Front Street in the Town of Hearst.

This investigation resulted in four Constance Lake residents being arrested and charged with the following drug related offences:

Ernest TAYLOR, 65, was charged with;

  • One count of Possession of a Schedule I Substance contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA).

Vanessa NOON, 42, was charged with;

  • One count of Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine contrary to section 4(1) CDSA, as well as;
  • One count of Possession of a Schedule II Substance – Cannabis Marijuana – under 30 grams contrary to section 4(1) CDSA.

Veronica SUTHERLAND, 25, was charged with;

  • One count of Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking contrary to section 5(2) CDSA, as well as;
  • One count of Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine contrary to section 4(1) CDSA.

Geana SUTHERLAND, 20, was charged with;

  • One count of Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine contrary to section 4(1) CDSA, as well as;
  • One count of Possession of a Schedule II Substance – Cannabis Marijuana – under 30 grams contrary to section 4(1) CDSA.

The accused persons will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Hearst on November 18, 2015 to answer to the charges.

The investigation was completed by members of the James Bay Detachments and its Crime Unit.
