Timmins and District Hospital Foundation (TADHF) staff made their craziest call yet to one of its 50/50 winners.
Andrew MacIvor picked up $132,148 in the September draw.
When TADHF executive Jason Laneville called and introduced himself on the phone, MacIvor screamed and asked if he won the 50/50, then told everyone within earshot, says the foundation.
"Once things settled down a little, he mentioned that his partner Cattabry actually works at the hospital," reads the news release.
"We thought it would be fun to visit her upstairs and deliver the news in person. We told Andrew that we would call him in two minutes once we were there. Up the elevator we went, we called him back, then told Cattabry while he was on speaker phone.
"She was in shock, but it turns out Andrew couldn’t wait to tell her himself and had called her within the minute and a half that it took us to get to her."
With the windfall, MacIvor plans to take a vacation with Cattabry and Finn, and invest the rest for the future.
