Gabriel Provost of Timmins was recently presented with the inaugural Robert Perreault Volunteer of the Year Award. This award is intended for someone who has been involved with the hospital foundation for at least two years, helped the organization become more visible in Northern Ontario, demonstrated substantial continuing and/or current involvement, and inspires others to volunteer or contribute.

Provost is an outstanding example of all the criteria. Volunteering for many years, he has never wavered in his commitment to the fundamental mission of the Timmins and District Hospital Foundation. Provost has served as a foundation board member, campaign member, been part of many events, and continues to bring forward new ideas to help TADHF grow.

Gabriel Provost stated, “I volunteer because I like to give and want to give back to those who give to me. I receive great care from the staff at TADH and they should be recognized for their work. This hospital has been there for me through many health issues and in return, I want to support our hospital. Also, I would like to thank my wife Janet for being by my side in everything I do. ”

Jason Laneville, executive director of the hospital foundation explained that the bar has been set very high with regard to Gabe receiving this award. “From the days of fundraising to build TADH to this very day, Gabe has had an open line of communication to our organization and continues to help advance fundraising efforts. Patients who use our hospital from the entire district are the ones that will benefit most from his efforts.”
