NEWS RELEASE
TIMMINS FIRE DEPARTMENT

The Timmins Fire Department has recently seen some dedicated professionals climb further up the ladder.

Gary Baker, who has been a very dedicated firefighter and asset to the City of Timmins Fire Department has been promoted to the rank of lieutenant. Baker’s career with the department began in 1999, and he became a career firefighter in 2001.

Dave Mahaffy, who joined the department in 1991, became a career firefighter in 1998, and promoted to lieutenant in 2014, has climbed to the rank of captain.

While these two continue to flourish in their careers, the department also honoured Captain Mark Labreche, who recently retired after 37.5 years with the fire department.

Labreche rose through the ranks from a volunteer firefighter to career, then to a lieutenant and eventually captain. We wish him the very best in his retirement.
