The finalists heading down the yellow brick road to the 2022 Nova Business Excellence Awards are in.

Today, the Timmins Chamber of Commerce announced the 45 businesses in the running to pick up an award at the May 12 ceremony with the theme The Wizard of Oz—There's No Place Like Timmins.

For the 20th anniversary, the celebration is back at the McIntyre Community Centre this year. Tickets go on sale March 22.

"This year's slate of incredible nominees is yet another reminder that Northern Ontario entrepreneurs are leaders who show sound conviction with the boldness of Auntie Em in protecting and preserving the cultural fabric of Timmins, and they deserve our recognition," said Rob Knox, Chamber president, in a news release.

"The last two years featured highly valued virtual components, but this year, we're very much looking forward to being 'back at the Mac,' or should I say, somewhere over the rainbow in the merry old land of Oz,  to celebrate the best of Timmins business."
