NEWS RELEASE

Timmins-James Bay MP Charlie Angus and Timmins MPP Gilles Bisson are offering free skating during the March Break. Angus and Bisson have booked a few hours next week to help parents keep their children active.

Angus says providing the ice time was a simple idea. “Parents are always looking for stuff for their children during the March break. So we thought why not arrange free public skating.”

Angus says the free skate also keeps kids active. “Getting out of the house is vital for children to assist in their mental and physical well-being. Parents also appreciate the fact it is free.”

Bisson says he’s had great feedback from the public for previous community events. “This is another opportunity to connect with members of the community and for them to connect with their provincial and federal representatives.”

The free skate goes Tuesday, March 12 from 12:30 to 2:20 p.m. at the Whitney Arena and Thursday, March 14 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:20 p.m. at the Sportsplex Arena.
