DISTRICT SCHOOL BOARD NORTH EAST (DSB1)

District School Board Ontario North East (DSB1) Student Trustees participated in the last regular meeting of the 2018-2019 school year on June 18, 2019. The Board of Trustees would like to sincerely thank Danielle Beaudoin, Chloey Frank and Noble Stow-Gore for their hard work and contributions.

“The Board of Trustees is very proud of the work of Danielle, Chloey and Noble over the course of the year,” said Chair Brush. “They have brought forward the voices of DSB1 students at the Board table and did tremendous work on important projects.”

The Student Trustees concentrated on key initiatives during their term. Notably, they lead the creation of the Student Senate, an advisory group of elected students from each of our secondary schools. They organized two full days of professional learning for the incoming 2019-2020 Student Senators, to prepare them for this vital role. They also oversaw the revision of Student Senate bylaws. Danielle, Chloey and Noble worked diligently on school cultures by ensuring that our schools are welcoming spaces for all students. They gathered input from their peers on how to improve learning opportunities for students.

They were instrumental in gathering student voice for the Efficacy Assessment that the Board underwent this year. DSB1 would like to wish Danielle, Chloey and Noble well as they continue their positive future story and embark on their postsecondary education journey next year.
