Drumming groups connect twice a week (8 photos)

There are outdoor sessions for men and women

Twice a week, members of the Timmins Native Friendship Centre gather at the centre's parking lot on Kirby Avenue to drum and connect with each other.

Men’s sessions are held from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. every Tuesday and Friday. Women’s sessions are offered from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays.

A maximum of 10 people is allowed per group and participants are asked to keep physical distancing.

Before the pandemic started, sessions were held at the centre's gym where both women and men would gather together and take turns singing and drumming, said Holly Buffalo Rodrique. When the restrictions were put in place, sessions were shifted online.
