A section of Algonquin Boulevard in Timmins will be closed to traffic today for Le Jour des Franco-Ontariens and Franco-Ontariennes.
The road will be closed from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. between Pine and Balsam streets.
About 400 people are expected to be at city hall for a flag raising to celebrate.
For commercial vehicle traffic, there are detours in place.
Westbound vehicles will be expected to take Highway 655 to Laforest Road and follow the Detour D2 signs in place for the Kraft Creek bridge construction
Eastbound traffic can exit Algonquin Boulevard at Theriault Boulevard and follow the Detour D2 signs
