A section of road Downtown Timmins will be closed next week for a new spin on an annual event.
Welcome to Timmins Night is an annual event featuring non-profit organizations. While it's normally held indoors at the McIntyre arena, the event is being held earlier this year in a new, outdoor location.
This week, Timmins council approved the road closures for the event.
Sections of Third Avenue will be closed on Wednesday, Aug. 18 from 4-9 p.m. The blocks affected are Spruce to Pine, Pine to Cedar and Cedar to Balsam.
About 40 exhibitors are participating and the event is free to attend.
Every event attendee will receive a passport and, as they visit each booth, they will get a stamp. Those who have visited more than 10 booths can enter a draw. The winners will be announced at the end of the event.
