Two charged with assault in unrelated domestic dispute investigations

KIRKLAND LAKE - On May 9, 2019, members of the Kirkland Lake Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a domestic dispute in the Town of Kirkland Lake, Ont.

As a result of the investigation, a 49-year-old male, from Kirkland Lake, Ont., was charged with the following: 

  • assault, contrary to section 266 of the Criminal Code (CC),
  • fail to comply with recognizance, contrary to section 145(3) of the CC, and
  • fail to comply with probation order, contrary to section 733.1(1) of the CC.

On May 10, 2019, members of the Kirkland Lake Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a domestic dispute in the Town of Kirkland Lake, Ont. 

As a result of the investigation, a 51-year-old male, from Kirkland Lake, Ont., was charged with the following: 

  • assault, contrary to section 266 of the CC. 

Both accused are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Kirkland Lake.  

The OPP will not be releasing the names in order to protect the identity of the victims.
