OPP says the highway has reopened. It was closed for about 13 hours after a fatal crash this morning.

Update, 11:45 a.m.

Police have confirmed one person was killed in a two-vehicle crash this morning on Highway 101 east of Porcupine. The highway remains closed.

A serious crash on the highway into the east end of Timmins has closed the road in both directions.

Highway 101 is closed near the Met Site due to a two-vehicle crash, says OPP. Serious injuries are being reported. 

The highway has been closed since around 1 a.m. and it's not known when it will reopen.

School bus routes east of the closure are cancelled this morning. 

There is no short detour around that area.

The alternate routes are heading towards Cochrane using Highway 655 and Highway 11.
