A COVID-19 outbreak has been declared at the South Centennial Manor in Iroquois Falls.

The Porcupine Health Unit announcement does not say how many people at the facility are affected.

"The PHU is working closely with the home to ensure ongoing measures are maintained to protect residents and staff," reads the bulletin.

"Affected individuals have been given individual guidance for monitoring, isolation and testing as appropriate. The health unit will continue to work with the homes to provide infection prevention and control assessments and support the implementation of enhanced public health measures as necessary."

There are six ongoing outbreaks in the region, according to the health unit's website.

The others are at Anson General Hospital in Iroquois Falls, Living Space in Timmins, Timmins and District Hospital, Extendicare Timmins, and Foyer des Pionniers Nursing Home in Hearst.
