Two COVID-19 exposure advisories have been issued by the Timiskaming Health Unit.

Both of the potential exposures affect the Cobalt area.

People who used Temiskaming Transit on Saturday, Nov. 13 should self-monitor for symptoms if they were on the following routes:

  • Northbound between Cobalt and downtown New Liskeard from 9-11 a.m.
  • Route A between downtown New Liskeard and the Temiskaming Hospital from 9-11 a.m.

There was also a potential low-risk exposure at the Cobalt LCBO on Saturday, Nov. 13. The health unit is advising anyone who visited that day to self-monitor for symptoms.

"If symptoms develop, reach out to your local Assessment Center for testing. You do not have to go for testing if you do not have symptoms. If you are unsure of whether or not you should be tested, call the Timiskaming Health Unit for screening at 1-866-747-4305, extension 7," reads the notice.

To date in the Timiskaming Health Unit region, which runs from Kirkland Lake to the Temagami area, there have been 271 confirmed cases of the virus. Of those, 251 are recovered and three people have died. There are 17 known active cases.
