Community Puts Children First by Responding to "Fill an Ambulance" Toy Drive

Cochrane District EMS and Cochrane District Social Services Administration Board comes through again with the help of residents in filling an ambulance with toys for children and families in need.

Cochrane District EMS and Cochrane District Social Services Administration Board comes through again with the help of residents in filling an ambulance with toys for children and families in need. Last weekend, an ambulance and responders as well as CDSSAB employees received toys  purchased at Walmart from the public as well as cash donations for families that don't have the financial resources or the means to have a Christmas worth remembering.

Presented to North Eastern Ontario Family and Children's Services were over 200 toys and a cheque for $3700. $1700 was collected from the public and CDSSAB provided $2000 towards the annual toy drive.

NEOFACS runs an annual campaign called Christmas Wishes to help provide necessities like food, clothing and gifts to children, youth and families in the Timmins, Iroquois Falls and Matheson.

NEOFACS workers submit the names and wish list on their case load that need assistance throughout the holiday season.

Sponsors can assist in various ways such as sponsoring a child or family, provide monetary donations, holding a toy drive for new toys and/or purchasing food vouchers at a local grocery store.
