Collision leads to impaired charge

COCHRANE – On Jan. 31, 2017, at approximately 10:30 a.m., Cochrane officers of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were advised of a motor vehicle collision on Highway 652, east of the Town of Cochrane.

Subsequent to a police investigation and a Drug Recognition Evaluation conducted by an OPP Drug Recognition Evaluator (DRE), the female driver was arrested and charged.

Lianne Servais, 27, of Cochrane, Ontario has been charged with Driving While Ability Impaired – Motor Vehicle (Drug) contrary to section 253(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada (CC).

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cochrane on Mar. 21, 2017 to answer to the charge.
