Cochrane man seriously injured in downtown collision

Police are looking for anyone who witnessed the pedestrian collision

The Timmins Police Service – Traffic Section is in the midst of completing its investigation into a collision involving a Toyota Tacoma pickup truck and a 20-year-old male pedestrian.

The collision occurred yesterday at approximately 11 p.m. at the intersection of Mountjoy Street South and Algonquin Boulevard in Timmins.

The Timmins Police Service is thankful to those persons who remained at the scene and came forward with their information in regards to this event to assist officers with their investigation.

The 20-year-old male pedestrian from Cochrane was taken to Timmins and District Hospital by ambulance.

He was treated for serious but not life threatening upper body injuries sustained in the collision.

The driver of the pickup truck involved in the collision is a 42-year-old man from Connaught.

Traffic in this area was halted for approximately two and half hours to allow for Timmins Police Service investigators to complete their on-site examination of the collision scene.
