NORTHEASTERN CATHOLIC DISTRICT SCHOOL BOARD

At the Northeastern Catholic District School Board of Trustees meeting that took place on Wednesday, January 27, 2016, the Board passed a motion to ratify the tentative agreement reached with OECTA Northeastern Unit Teachers, representing all elementary and secondary teachers within the Board.
Rick Brassard, Board Chair commented, “We are very pleased to be able to ratify this agreement with our teachers. 2015 was a challenging year but, with provincial and local negotiations now behind us with this employee group, we are poised to be moving ahead and we look forward to the future of Catholic Education in our school board.”
Education sector contracts with employee groups require a two-tier bargaining process, with provincial agreements followed by local agreements.
Trustees ratified the provincial agreement with OECTA earlier this school year.
