A bonspiel is boosting the Timmins and District Hospital Foundation (TADHF).

Last winter, Timmins Garage hosted the Northern Automotive Dealers Association's 71st annual curling bonspiel.

The event raised $10,177 for pediatrics at the Timmins and District Hospital.

Timmins Garage general sales manager Stefano Lodovici said the proceeds of the bonspiel go to the host city's local charity.

"All the participants are mothers, fathers, aunts, uncles or grandparents; they know life is unpredictable and chose to support the pediatrics unit to help make a difference in patient care," he said in a news release.

TADHF manager of donor relations Barb McCormick said the money will help buy specialized pediatric equipment at the hospital.
