Area home sales in June continue to surge

June's 186 residential sales marks a new record for the month of June

The Timmins, Cochrane and Timiskaming District Association of Realtors reports that after a strong May, June home sales continue to surge.

June's 186 residential sales was a new sales record for the month of June, and was also the highest level for any month in history. It marked an increase of 56 per cent from last year.

There was also a significant increase of new listings from May 2020 to June 2020.

In June 2020:

  • 186 was the number of total property sold
  • $183,367 was the average price of homes sold
  • 286 new residential units were posted

To compare, in June 2019:

  • 86 was the number of total property sold
  • $177,315 was the average price of homes sold
  • 266 new residential listings were posted

In May 2020:

  • 100 was the number of total property sold
  • $160,412 was the average price of homes sold
  • 167 new residential units were posted
