NORMANDY – Timmins-James Bay MP Charlie Angus will be part of the official delegation for the 75th anniversary commemoration of the Canadian victory at Juno Beach. Angus will be joining a Canadian delegation of officials and veterans who will be with the Prime Minister for the official ceremonies.

Angus says he is honoured to be representing Canada.

"It will be very emotional to stand on the sands of Normandy on this historic commemoration. I think of those who came from our region who participated in this historic battle and the break out that followed."

The delegation will be participating in the commemoration of key Normandy battles and Canadian gravesites. Angus says he is deeply honoured to be asked to represent the Canadian government.

"All my great uncles fought in the horrific battles of Europe. I will be thinking of them and all the young Canadians who served and who paid the greatest sacrifice in defeating the evils of Nazism."
