KIRKLAND LAKE - On July 4, 2019, members of the Kirkland Lake Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), the North East Region OPP Crime Unit and the North East Region Forensic Identification Services, responded to a report of an assault at a residence on Government Road West in the Town of Kirkland Lake, Ontario.
Further investigation revealed that an altercation had taken place and that the victim sustained life-threatening injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment.
As a result, Peter Logie, age 21, from Kirkland Lake, Ontario, was charged with:
- Aggravated assault, contrary to section 268 of the Criminal Code (CC).
The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing and is scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Temiskaming Shores, on July 8, 2019.
