A number of culverts are being replaced this year.

Tuesday, Belanger Construction was given the $441,772 contract for the work on Langmuir Road and Bob's Creek.

Director of public works and engineering Pat Seguin said the Langmuir Road culvert is at its end of life.

It's on a creek off the Redstone River. The three existing corrugated steel pipe culverts will be replaced with one concrete box culvert.

The Bob's Creek work is near Haileybury Crescent where the creek drains into Porcupine Lake, according to the report.

The existing corrugated steel pipe culverts are at end of life. The four pipes will be replaced with two, 1,000-mm corrugated steel pipe culverts.

The city's budgeted costs for the work is $500,000.

This week, Belanger Construction was also awarded the contract to extend infrastructure services on St. Jean Street in the city's west end.
