4 new COVID-19 cases, no recoveries reported Wednesday

Four new COVID-19 cases and no recoveries are being reported by the Porcupine Health Unit today (July 14). 

All of the new cases are in the James Bay area.

To date, there have been 2,105 confirmed cases of the virus. Of the confirmed cases, 2,053 are recovered and 30 people have died. There are 22 known active cases — 3 in Timmins, 17 in the James Bay area, 1 in the area of Cochrane, Matheson, Iroquois Falls and Smooth Rock Falls, and 1 in Hearst, Hornepayne.

So far, 48,728 people have been vaccinated, which is an increase of 81 from yesterday's report. There have been 87,188 doses of the vaccines administered. 

There are COVID-19 assessment centres in Timmins, Cochrane, Iroquois Falls, Matheson, Kapuskasing, Smooth Rock Falls, Hearst, and Hornepayne, as well as communities on the James Bay coast.
