KIRKLAND LAKE - Kirkland Lake Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police has charged a local man with assault a peace officer. The charges stem from a request from local hospital staff for assistance with a violent male. The incident occurred at approximately 7:15 p.m. on Nov. 3, 2018.
Three officers sustained injuries as a result of the altercation and were all treated and released.
Charged is Tristan Hickey, 22 years old of Kirkland Lake, Ont. with two counts assault a peace officer, resist a peace officer and fail to comply with Probation Order.
The accused has been remanded into custody pending a bail hearing.
