3 new COVID-19 cases, no recoveries reported Thursday

Three new COVID-19 cases and no new recoveries are being reported by the Porcupine Health Unit today (July 15).

All of the new cases are in the James Bay area.

To date, there have been 2,108 confirmed cases of the virus. Of the confirmed cases, 2,053 are recovered and 30 people have died. There are 25 known active cases — 3 in Timmins, 20 in the James Bay area, 1 in the area of Cochrane, Matheson, Iroquois Falls and Smooth Rock Falls, and 1 in Hearst, Hornepayne.

So far, 48,750 people have been vaccinated, which is an increase of 22 from yesterday's report. There have been 87,347 doses of the vaccines administered. 

There are COVID-19 assessment centres in Timmins, Cochrane, Iroquois Falls, Matheson, Kapuskasing, Smooth Rock Falls, Hearst, and Hornepayne, as well as communities on the James Bay coast.
