A new service is helping out people isolating due to COVID-19.

People who are confirmed COVID-19 cases or who are a high-risk close contact who needs to isolate can now call 211 for help with groceries and essential household items, medication delivery, mental health services, and more.

The service is available for people in the Cochrane District, which is the Porcupine Health Unit's region.

“211 presents an ideal solution,” said Carole Duguay, Cochrane District Social Services Administration Board (CDSSAB) Community Services manager, in a news release.

“The system is designed around client and issue management and can quickly provide an appropriate response. Our partner organizations like the Porcupine  Health Unit (PHU) were already addressing some of these concerns, but by centralizing  it through 211 Ontario, we’re freeing up time for our frontline response and better coordinating services.”
