14 new COVID cases, 5 recoveries reported today

Fourteen new COVID-19 cases and five recoveries are being reported by the Porcupine Health Unit today.

Thirteen cases are in Timmins and one person is in the Kapuskasing area. 

Nine people are the contacts of a case and the exposure of five cases is under investigation, according to the health unit.

To date, there have been 675 confirmed cases of the virus. Of those, 529 are recovered and 26 people have died. There are 120 known active cases in the region.

There are COVID-19 assessment centres in Timmins, Cochrane, Iroquois Falls, Matheson, Kapuskasing, Smooth Rock Falls, Hearst, and Hornepayne, as well as communities on the James Bay coast.
