11-year-old boy seriously injured in pedestrian collision

On the evening of July 7, 2017, at approximately 7:45 p.m., police were called to a single vehicle collision involving an 11-year-old male pedestrian.

The collision occurred on Fourth Avenue in Schumacher.

Initial investigation by the Traffic Services Section revealed that a black 2014 Toyota Corolla was traveling Westbound on Fourth Ave. in Timmins when it struck the pedestrian. The pedestrian was transported to hospital with serious injuries, and was subsequently transported to an Ottawa area hospital for further treatment.

Police are requesting assistance from the public in relation to this ongoing investigation.

Although the driver of the vehicle is known, any independent accounts of what occurred would assist with the investigation. Any witnesses are asked to contact the Timmins Police Service at 705-264-1201.
