1 new COVID-19 case, 10 recoveries reported Tuesday

One new COVID-19 case and 10 recoveries are being reported by the Porcupine Health Unit today (July 6). 

The new case is in the Kapuskasing area. 

To date, there have been 2,084 confirmed cases of the virus. Of the confirmed cases, 2,010 are recovered and 29 people have died. There are 45 known active cases — 6 in Timmins, 36 in the James Bay area, 2 in the area of Cochrane, Matheson, Iroquois Falls and Smooth Rock Falls, and 2 in the Kapuskasing area.

So far, at least 48,344 people have been vaccinated. There have been 83,965 doses of the vaccines administered. These numbers are the same as yesterday's report.

There are COVID-19 assessment centres in Timmins, Cochrane, Iroquois Falls, Matheson, Kapuskasing, Smooth Rock Falls, Hearst, and Hornepayne, as well as communities on the James Bay coast.
