New pot shop opens its doors (4 photos)

It offers an interactive experience, says acting manager

Timmins' second legal pot shop has opened its doors.

Today, Sessions Cannabis is celebrating its grand opening. It kicked off with an official ribbon-cutting ceremony before the doors opened to the public. Throughout the day there will be giveaways, store-wide specials and performances by Paul Sebalj.

This is the northern-most location for the company and has created 13 local jobs.

Acting manager Jesse Prior said the store offers an interactive experience with no mystery or surprises. Staff are available to guide people who stop by.

The open-concept store is bright and also features a mural wall featuring a local image from Photography by Mark and Lynn Clement.

Because of COVID-19 restrictions, there is a reduced capacity in the store. People who are stopping by are encouraged to bundle up in case there's a brief wait outside.

This is the second cannabis shop to open in Timmins. Last year, Dutch Love Cannabis, formerly known as Hobo Cannabis, opened on Riverside Drive near Pizza Hut.

Sessions Cannabis is located at 425 Algonquin Blvd. E.
