A new partnership is helping out local entrepreneurs.

Successful new loan clients at the Venture Centre will now get a one-year free membership at the Timmins Chamber of Commerce. The deal was inked today  (Oct. 19) with the signing of a memorandum of understanding.

“We want to empower new business clients with valuable resources and opportunities available with a Chamber membership,” said Gerard Bruneau, The Venture Centre board vice chair, in a news release.

The Chamber membership means the loan recipient will have access to the organization's resources and tools.

“We are thankful for our partnership with the Venture Centre, knowing this initiative can make a positive impact on the local business landscape. Their new clients will now have access to the wide array of benefits offered by the Timmins Chamber, free of charge for the first year, and our membership growth means more opportunities for supporting local businesses,” said Kraymr Grenke, Timmins Chamber president.

The agreement was announced as part of Small Business Week, which runs until Oct. 21.
