The Timmins hospital's emergency department has received a generous boost.

The Custom Concrete Employee Association recently donated $2,500 to the Timmins and District Hospital Foundation (TADHF) to support the emergency department.

Employees at Custom Concrete's northern operation contribute to the fund through payroll deduction, according to Derrick Last, association treasurer.

"Our association was created as a way to support our community with donations to causes near and dear to us," said Last in a news release. "We are proud to make this donation to the Timmins and District Hospital Foundation so our emergency department can continue to deliver the best healthcare to our region."

The foundation greatly appreciates the donation, said Barb McCormick, TADHF manager of donor relations.

"We hope their fundraising idea inspires others in our community to support our vision through similar programs in their workplace. If you are interested in finding out how giving programs work, contact the foundation today," she said.
