Kirkland Lake taxi users potentially exposed to COVID-19

People who used A1 Taxi during the specified times Dec. 19, 20 or 21 should self-monitor

A potential COVID-19 exposure advisory has been issued in Kirkland Lake.

People who used A1 Taxi on Dec. 19, 20 or 21 may have been exposed to the virus, according to the Timiskaming Health Unit.

The potential exposure times are Dec. 19 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., Dec. 21 from 4 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Dec. 21 from 4 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Anyone who used the service during these periods should self-monitor and reach out for testing if symptoms develop.

The Kirkland Lake Assessment Centre can be reached at 705-568-2127.

"You do not have to go for testing if you do not have symptoms," reads the bulletin from the health unit.

People unsure if they should be tested should call the Assessment Centre or Timiskaming Health Unit for screening. The health unit number is 1-866-747-4305.

To date there have been 48 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the Timiskaming District. Thirty of those have been reported this month. There are 15 known active cases.
