We are happy to announce that every Sunday we will be bringing you a snapshot of our past, courtesy the Timmins Museum.

In honour of Remembrance Day, we thought we would start off with a photo of some of the brave Timmins area soldiers who fought in the First World War.

PHOTO: Lieutenant Gordon and a number of new recruits of the Porcupine platoon of the Fourth Forestry Draft, World War One, taken on the corner of Pine Street and Fourth Avenue, Timmins, April 24, 1917. 

More than 625 young men from the Porcupine participated in World War One between December 1914 and November 1918.
