Many reasons to explore the local provincial park

Kettle Lakes boasts nearly two dozen lakes, two campgrounds, hiking trails and more

With over 20 lakes, walking trails, two campgrounds, beaches and more, there's a hidden gem in the city with the heart of gold.

Kettle Lakes Provincial Park is located on Municipal Road within the City of Timmins.

It boasts 22 lakes, two campgrounds (Island Lake and The Pines), group camping, and a rustic one-room cabin that can be rented. Whether you're looking to fish, swim or just enjoy a day on the beach, there are a number of beaches and lakes to choose from.

Slab Lake is the most popular day-use area, offering a picnic shelter, picnic tables, beach, rentals and a playground. There are also beach areas at Green Lake and Island Lake.

If you want to go on a hike, there are four trails to choose from, ranging in distance from 1.5 kilometres to three kilometres.

To get to the park, head north from Highway 101 at the Dubien's General Store intersection. The park entrance is on the east side of the road at 1350 Municipal Road.
