NDP Leader Andrea Horwath has cancelled her visit to North Bay this week after testing positive for COVID.

"Like so many others over the last couple of years, I tested positive for COVID-19 this morning. We’ve been doing our best to keep everyone safe, and I’ll keep doing that by staying in isolation.

"Over the next few days, we were scheduled to go to Sault Ste. Marie, Thunder Bay, Kenora, Sandy Lake First Nation and North Bay — and I was really looking forward to it. We’ll have to make some adjustments, but I’ll continue to connect with people however I can."

Meanwhile, Green party leader Mike Schreiner tested positive yesterday evening after close contact with a staff member.

Schreiner says he is “feeling fine” and is fully vaccinated. He says he will campaign remotely from home.for a few days.

Ontario’s current public health rules require that people isolate themselves for five days after COVID-19 symptoms first appear or after a positive test result, whichever comes first.

The election is only two weeks away, on June 2.
