A motorist has died after driving into a flooded ditch

The OPP Underwater Search and Recovery Unit (USRU) has recovered a man's body from the waters of Moose Creek in Casey Township, just north of Temiskaming Shores.

On April 13, shortly after 3:20 a.m., Temiskaming OPP received a report of a missing motorist in the area of Promenade Road and Maybrook Road in Casey Township.

Police say the vehicle entered the flooded ditch and the driver was pulled into Moose Creek.

Yesterday the missing man's body was found by the OPP USRU.

Police say out of respect for the family, the identity of the deceased, nor his home municipality will be released.

Earlier this week Temiskaming OPP asked motorists to use caution while driving due to road damage and washouts from flooding from heavy rainfall as municipal works officials worked to repair the damaged roads.
