With the water levels remaining higher than normal, the flood outlook for the Timmins area has been extended.
The flood outlook statement is an early notice of potential flooding based on weather forecasts and other conditions that could lead to high runoff, ice jams, lakeshore flooding or erosion.
"Once again, residents are cautioned against venturing out on lakes, rivers and small streams where slippery stream banks, dangerous currents and fast-moving cold water will make all waterways very hazardous. Parents especially, are urged to warn their children of these dangers," reads the news release from the Timmins Flood Advisory Committee.
The flood outlook statement is in place until May 9, unless it's updated before then.
