Timmins Police Service investigating fatal motor vehicle collision

On May 1, at approximately 7:50 p.m., the Timmins Police Service, along with the Timmins Fire Department and EMS responded to a motor vehicle collision on Highway 101 E in the Schumacher area.

Preliminary investigation revealed that a vehicle travelling Eastbound left the roadway and entered the body of water located west of McIntyre Rd.

The driver of the vehicle was transported to hospital, but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.

As the investigation is in its early stages, the cause of the collision is unknown at this time.

The Timmins Police Service continues to investigate.

Highway 101 E was closed for a period of time, however the Eastbound lane has now been re-opened.
