NEWS RELEASE

KLINGON ASSAULT GROUP TIMMINS

*************************
The Imperial Klingon Vessel Crimson Dawn, the new Timmins branch of the Klingon Assault Group Star Trek fan club, will be at the Northern Ontario Expo on April 25 and 26 in partnership with Wounded Warriors Canada seeking donations in support of their national Service Dog Program.

Since in the Star Trek universe Klingons are a warrior race, the club’s members felt it only appropriate that they lend their support to a group of real warriors who sacrificed their health in service to Canada.

Wounded Warriors provides specially trained service dogs to veterans living with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.

The dogs work closely with veterans from across the country  allowing each dog to be specially trained to suit each person’s needs.

Wounded Warriors Canada is the national leader in funding animal assisted therapy programs for Canadian Forces veterans suffering from PTSD.

The Klingons will be accepting donations of all sizes in support of the Service Dog program during the Northern Ontario Expo, held in the Grand Ballroom of the McIntyre Arena, upstairs from the Sportsman Show.

Should you wish to contribute directly to this or one of the other worthy programs supported by Wounded Warriors Canada, visit them online at www.woundedwarriors.ca.

The Klingon Assault Group is an international, community based Star Trek fan and costuming club.

As well as offering a fun way for science fiction fans to connect, they seek to be a positive force in their communities by getting involved with important causes, and taking part in local events.

There is no cost to join KAG, and costumes not required for membership.

People interested in joining are encouraged to contact the Commanding Officer, Karen Fenton Hutchison at [email protected], or visit the ship on Facebook

You can also check out the club’s official website www.kag.org to learn more.
