HEARST –Shortly before 11:00 pm on Friday, December 19, 2014, officers from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Hearst detachment responded to a collision involving a police vehicle and a pickup truck at the intersection of Highway 11 and Cloutier Rd North, just west of Hearst, Ontario.

Upon arriving at the scene, police closed Hwy 11 in order to conduct their investigation while Emergency Medical Services (EMS) tended to the occupants of the involved vehicles.

The investigation revealed that the Dodge Ram pickup truck occupied by a 29 year old male driver and 67 year old female passenger from Constance Lake First Nation was travelling eastbound on Hwy 11 and a Ford Taurus police vehicle operated by a 31 year old male police officer from Hearst was travelling Southbound on Cloutier Road North prior to the collision.

The three occupants sustained non-life threatening injuries and were transported to the hospital by ambulance where they were later released.

Members with the OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigation (TTCI) unit are currently investigating the cause of the collision and charges are pending completion of the investigation.
