Special Weather Statement for: Kapuskasing - Hearst - Smooth Rock Falls - Timmins - Cochrane - Iroquois Falls - Kirkland Lake - New Liskeard - Temagami.

A low pressure system developing over the Southern Plains today will be tracking northeast towards the Great Lakes tonight.

A broad area of rain ahead of the low will begin moving into northern Ontario Wednesday morning and continue into early Thursday.

Although there is still some uncertainty in the exact track of the low, general rainfall amounts in the 30 to 60 mm range are expected for portions of northeastern Ontario and areas north of Superior.

Rain could be heavy at times and higher amounts may be possible locally, particularly for areas where thunderstorms occur.

A rainfall warning may be required for regions expected to receive 50 mm or more of rain within 24 hours.

Please monitor the latest forecasts and warnings from Environment Canada at www.weatheroffice.gc.ca.
