The top 25 competitors include a mix of seasoned anglers and and newcomers
11-08-18 NOWT 1 Ann

Thursday evening saw several anglers in attendance at J&B Cycle & Marine for the live board cast for the announcement of which anglers qualified for the 2019 NOWT Championship.

Those who were unable to attend were able to watch the live broadcast on either the Northern Ontario Walleye Trail or J&B Cycle and Marine Facebook pages.

With corporate sponsorship agreement with Princecraft Boats, Mercury Marine Canada and J&B Cycle and Marine, qualifying anglers in 2018 would have the opportunity to compete for a 2019 Princecraft Hudson DLX190 powered by a Mercury 150 HP four stroke outboard, valued at over $50,000.

With the announcement of a championship in the Northern Ontario Walleye Trail this spring, many anglers took their skills to the next level this season in hopes of qualifying for the championship.

For the very first NOWT Championship, Geraldton, Ont. will be the host community.

The Geraldton Walleye Classic reserved 25 spots for the top 25 qualifying championship anglers.

This means that not only will the top 25 fishing in the championship have the chance at winning the 2019 Princecraft Hudson DLX190 powered by a Mercury 150 HP four stroke outboard, valued at over $50,000, but also a chance at winning an additional $10,000 if they should happen to win the GWT also.

In turn, an angler that qualified for the championship, now has an opportunity potentially win over $60,000 in prizes

This is very exciting news as not only will Geraldton be hosting the Princecraft NOWT Championship but will also be celebrating their 30th anniversary of the Geraldton Walleye Classic.

Here are the names of the qualifying anglers which were read off Thursday night by NOWT board treasurer Craig Salmonson and Rob Racine, general manager of J&B Cycle and Marine
