I thought I would quickly touch on outer clothing for the ice season. With all the choices ice anglers have today, the choices are endless. Manufacturers today make all types of suits for the anglers that are able to withstand the cold and use that ice anglers puts them through. Remember before purchasing one that you are going to be spending the day in the cold in it.  Jacketski pants Here are somethings that you may want to consider before purchasing one. Do you want a one piece suit or one that offers a jacket and a pair of overalls. Is it wind and water proof?  What about one that will allow you float in case you happen to fall through the ice or one that doesn't. Does the jacket come with draw strings that helps keep body heat in and stops drafts from entering? Is there wind flaps that cover the zippers preventing the cold from entering? What about adjustable cuffs on the shelves of the jacket and on the pant legs, again stopping the wind and drafts from coming in?  Is there enough pockets in the suit for your stuff ?  What about a jacket that you can remove the outer shell from when you get hot or on those warmer days. One last thing to consider is does the suit come with a hood?  Is there a draw string and snaps to cover my chin in the hood. I can't tell you how many times that I was thankful that I had a hood, even on those warmer windy days. These are some questions that a new angler to ice fishing might consider looking at before purchasing one or if you're looking at replace your old suit.
