The two-day event opens on Saturday
04-26-2018 Dave Reid Column

With the long range-forecast not looking too promising this weekend there is no sense sitting at home when you can come out to the Schumacher Lions Club 71st Annual Sportsman Show.

If you missed last years special guest, Wild TV's Amanda Lynn Mahew, not to worry as Amanda will be at the Sportsman Show again this weekend to present some hunting seminars along with answering any questions you may have.

Show times and admission fees are:

  • Saturday, April 28 - 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Sunday April 29 - 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Adults/Seniors/Students - $5.00
  • Children 10 and under FREE

With 75 vendors and 200 booths, there is certainly something for everyone to enjoy.

If you happen to stop by the Albert's booth this weekend, be sure to ask Chantal, Ken or one of their staff about registering for this years Family Fishing Tournament held by Albert's Sports and Work Wear Ltd. and the Gogama Fire, Rescue that will be held on July 7, 2018 on beautiful Minisinakwa Lake in Gogama.

This year will also see the Timmins Kiwanis Club selling registrations for the Timmins Kiwanis Club Kids Live Release Fishing Tournament which will be held on July 18, 2018 on Beautiful Gillies Lake. For more information on the Kids Tournament be sure to drop by their booth.

Bob's Taxidermy will be back for another year with his wildlife mounts for everyone to enjoy. If you're looking to have your trophy mounted, drop by and check out the mounts that will be on display. While there, ask Bob about the deer mounts he did for boys from Cross Hairs Hunting and his other satisfied consumers.

You won't want to miss out on seeing what's New at Mikey's for the 2018 season. Make sure to ask the Mikey's Staff about some of exclusive show savings.

This year I'll be at the Mikey's Booth for anyone interested in SmokerCraft Boats and the Evinrude G2.

Once again, I will be bouncing back and forth between the Mikey's, Bob's Taxidermy and Timmins Kiwanis Club Kids Live Release Fishing Tournament booths.

Hope to see you there.

I'd like to Thank Amanda S. Dyer from 92.1 Rock/Kiss 99.3 for taking the time to send me some of the information used in this article.
